MADIface XT
Legacy DriverKit
FPGA DSP FPGA DSP
56 42 57 42
Included USB3 firmware is 191 for both Driver formats.

Note: Update only via PCIe. The USB firmware is also updated. The MADIface XT II is not supported by this tool due to the lack of PCIe.

02/03/2025: Update HDSPe MADI FX Rev 2 to DSP 33. Fix: Mono Dynamics affected Reverb taps, more than 72 channel EQs affected Room EQ.

05/08/2024: DSP version 32 for HDSPe MADI FX Rev. 2.0. Added Room EQ (requires TotalMix FX 1.95 or higher).

04/27/2024: No new firmware versions. Updated flash tool for more stable operation and display of transmission errors.

08/29/2023:

- Bugfix: with the HDSPe MADI FX of hardware revision 2 the MADI I/Os 1 and 2 were swapped. With the new firmware version 219 (Legacy) and 220 (DK) the assignment corresponds to the imprint on the slot bracket and the manual.

V 192:

- This FUT contains for the first time the DriverKit compatible PCI-E firmware versions of the MADI FX and the MADIface XT. There are no feature changes or bug fixes in the firmware. The DK version is fully compatible and can be used under Windows - but does not have to be. Therefore an update is currently normally not necessary. The cards can be provided with the previous firmware (legacy) or the new version at any time via the option 'DriverKit compatible'.

V 191:

MADIface XT USB 191: Fixes a compatibility issue (record start) with Asmedia USB controllers.

V 190:

MADIface XT USB 190: Fixed support for the USB3 power save state U3 (broken functionality after Standby, mainly on newer Macs).

V 91_26:

HDSPe MADI FX: After boot the MADI outputs default to 64 channel mode. Word clock input inverted to maintain correct phase relation with the MADI output.

Includes current firmware for MADIface XT: USB 3/2 189, PCIe 56, DSP 42. MIDI data present at the MIDI input port during boot of the device caused the MIDI port to become unusable. USB 3 workaround added for Surface Book / GenesysLogic USB Hub compatibility. New feature Keys & Encoder lock: Options - Hardware/Diagnosis - Lock Keys/Enc. Deactivation by pressing the key SETUP for 2 seconds.

V 90_26:

HDSPe MADI FX: Prevents a seldom case of limited number of FX although DSP resources are still available.

Includes current firmware for MADIface XT: USB 3/2 171, PCIe 56, DSP 39.

V 89_24:

MADIface XT: Supports the new reverbs. DSP mixer has been optimized. Stand-alone operation: new menu to activate MIDI over MADI. USB 2/3 are now compatible to the Corning USB 3 optical cable.

HDSPe MADI FX: Supports the new reverbs. DSP mixer has been optimized.

V 89_21 New:

- Update of the MADIface XT to DSP 33. Enables all channels for the Control Room section.

V 89_21:

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX DSP to v 21, MADIface XT DSP 32 (USB 3/2 167). Improved effects.

V 89_19:

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to v 89, MADIface XT 55 (USB 3/2 165, DSP 30). Removes delays in communication after cold boot of the computer.

V 88_19 New:

- Firmware for MADIface XT added: USB 3/2 160, PCIe 54, DSP 30.

V 88_19:

- Resynchronisation of the input buffers when changing between Single/Double/Quad speed

- Mixer DSP could work in wrong mode when changing between Single/Double/Quad speed

- Added support for different sync symbols

- MADI/AES phase control optimized to prevent 1-sample deviations after sample rate change

V 87_18

- Since V86 Reverb/Echo did not work anymore.

V 86_18

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to V 86. PCIe buffer on record side optimized to prevent dropouts with certain boards/chipsets (for example Intel H55). MADI channel index changed.

V 84_18

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to DSP V 18. Editing parameters of one channel could change parameters of a different channel. Changing between stereo and mono the link function of activated dynamics did not react accordingly.

V 84_16

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to V 84 and DSP V 16. PCIe buffer optimized to prevent dropouts/distortion with older Thunderbolt devices. Added internal Sync I/O.

V 75_15:

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to V 75. Fixed offset in left AES input. Using external PCIe chassis record/playback sometimes did not work. Slave Mode 32 kHz did not work.

V 70_15:

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to V 70. Channel Status data of MADI and AES, in and out, fixed. Swapped MADI port 1 and 2.

V 67_15:

- Update of the HDSPe MADI FX to V 67 and DSP V 15.

How to use:

Start hdspe_fx_fut.exe. The program will show you the current revision of your interface, and whether it needs an update or not. Next simply press the 'Update' button. A progress bar will indicate when the flash process is finished.

If more than one interface cards are installed, all cards can be flashed by changing to the next one in the drop-down menu and repeating the process.

After the update the card needs to be reset. This is done by powering down and shutting off the computer. A warm boot is not enough.
