--------------------

Update 09/01/2025: Babyface Proto 211 / 322: Improved transmission of the FX parameters

Update 07/29/2025: Expander Ratio was reset on boot to 1.0.

Update 02/03/2025: Fireface 802 FS to DSP 31. Fix: Mono Dynamics affected Reverb taps.

Update 01/29/2025: UCX II DSP to 35. No change to v34 (only change for testing during production).

Update 01/15/2025: Babyface Pro series to 209/321. Pan set unequal to zero stays unchanged with volume Adjustments in the maximum range.

Update 07/19/2024: Fireface 802 FS to USB 227. On some units v226 caused DA-channels 1/2 to be distorted.

Update 06/25/2024: Fireface 802 FS to USB 226, DSP 30, CC 214. Stand-alone mode revised. In stand-alone mode with sync to external clock, the device now also follows the sample rate of the applied clock source (Word, SPDIF, AES) into the Double and Quad Speed range. For ADAT there is a switch from Single to Double speed if the ADAT input signal contains the respective Status indication. For ADAT, however, there is no switching to Quad Speed, and no switching back to Single Speed (due to SMUX undefined state).

Update 06/12/2024: Fireface 802 FS to USB 222. This firmware contains a write protection for old firmware update tools that recognize the 802 FS as 802. Therefore a downgrade < 222 is no longer possible after the update.

Update 05/10/2024: Fireface 802 FS to DSP 29 (Room EQ).

Update 05/03/2024: UCX II to DSP 34: Mic Gain Control on the device did not work synchronously for both inputs (since DSP 30).

Update 04/29/2024: UCX II to DSP 33: PEQ with Q 0.4 and F 20 kHz led to a loss of sound at Single Speed. Multiple RoomEQ delays and reverb active at Quad Speed could lead to loss of the FX signal. Optimized filter calculation for lowpass / highpass at lower Q-values.

Update 03/28/2024: UCX II to DSP 31: VolCal higher than 0 dB prevented mute via channel fader.

Update 01/08/2024: UCX II to DSP 30 (Room EQ).

Update 08/24/2023: Babyface Pro to 206: Since v 203 the digital 1 dB mic gain adjustment did not work anymore on specific hardware versions.

Update 07/07/2023: Babyface Pro FS: Feature AN1->2 operated as 2->1. Boost is now compatible to the iPad app. UCX II: Input Gain channel 5 sometimes changed on its own.

Update 03/31/2023: FF802 later revisions: Input Ref Levels were assigned to wrong channels.

Update 03/23/2023: UFX, UCX, UC and Babyface: Update to DriverKit firmware. Only relevant for Apple users.

Update 01/25/2023: Babyface Pro to 203: supports Boost mode for inputs 3/4. Requires driver 1.226 and TM FX 1.80.

Update 01/10/2023: UCX II to USB 42 DSP 26: supports up to +24 dB Gain on inputs 3 to 8. Requires TM FX 1.79.

Update 11/29/2022: Babyface Pro to 201, internal optimization. Fireface 802 - CC mode now Windows compatible.

Update 04/11/2022: Babyface Pro FS with ESS from 199 to 200: ESS DAC low level control optimized.

Update 01/28/2022: Babyface Pro FS with ESS from 198 to 199: Zero crossing detection of the gain control did not work correctly.

Update 12/14/2021: Updates the CC firmware to UFX CC29, UCX CC14, FF 802 CC10. Reactivates the recognition on iPad with iOS 15. Other devices of this FUT are not affected.

How to use:

The Flash Update Tool requires an installed driver.

Start fut_usb.exe. The program will show you the current revision of your unit, and whether it needs an update or not. If so, then simply press the 'Update' button. A progress bar will indicate when the flash process is finished (Verify Ok).

If more than one unit is installed, all units can be flashed by changing to the next tab and repeating the process.

After the update the unit needs to be reset. This is done by powering down the UC/Babyface for a few seconds. A reboot of the computer is not necessary.

When the update fails (status: failure), the unit's second BIOS will be used from the next cold boot on (Secure BIOS Technology). Therefore the unit stays fully functional. The flash process should then be tried again on a different computer.

Firface UC: In case the automatic activation of the second BIOS does not work, push and hold the front knob during power-on.
